Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning jest remasterem trzecioosobowego RPG-a akcji z 2012 roku, przygotowanym przez studio Kaiko Games, znane z odświeżonych wersji gier z serii Darksiders. Akcja produkcji rozgrywa się w tytułowym świecie fantasy wykreowanym przez R.A. Salvatore’a.
Akcja gry rozgrywa się w krainie fantasy – Amalur, podzielonej na kilka regionów. Historia rozpoczyna się od śmierci głównej postaci, następnie wskrzeszonej za pomocą Studni Dusz. W Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning mamy do czynienia z klasyczną opowieścią „od zera do bohatera” oraz ratowaniem świata przed złem. Mimo możliwości podejmowania decyzji w dialogach, wzorowanych na serii Mass Effect, przedstawiona w grze opowieść ma głównie liniowy charakter.
